Despite the frigid temperatures, these athletes embraced the challenge, showcasing their resilience and love for this extreme sport.

This international event, a first for Stonehaven's open-air pool, has been a massive success, according to organizers. Leon Fryer from the International Ice Swimming Association highlighted the enthusiasm, with around 150 swimmers signing up for distances ranging from 1km to 50 meters.
"Stonehaven has been incredible," Fryer added. "The support from the community and local businesses has been heartwarming."
