Megyn Kelly vs. Elisabeth Hasselbeck: The View's Conservative Clash (2026)

Bold take: Megyn Kelly rips back at a MAGA host who tried to call her out on The View, and the clash is far from over. But here’s where it gets controversial... Kelly unleashed a blistering response on Tuesday after the show’s temporary conservative caller aimed barbs at her on air.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Kelly dismissed Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s remarks with sharp incredulity: “No one cares what this know-nothing has to say.” Hasselbeck, who previously co-hosted at Fox News with Kelly and supported Trump in 2024, challenged Kelly after The View played a clip of Kelly claiming that American troops in Kuwait died for reasons tied to Iran or Israel rather than the United States, and criticized Trump’s Iran actions. Hasselbeck pressed back, asking, “How dare you tell a military person who has sacrificed their lives for our nation, in our uniform—how dare you tell them or their families or our nation what they died for?”

Joy Behar warned Hasselbeck that Kelly is known for her fierce outbursts, to which Hasselbeck replied, “I’m not afraid of her.” Kelly’s response was pointed: “Elisabeth was too weak to handle The View and even the morning crew on Fox & Friends.” Hasselbeck had been dismissed from The View in 2013 after ongoing clashes with left-leaning colleagues. She then joined Fox & Friends, sharing a desk with Kelly for two years before leaving in 2015.

The confrontation showed no warmth. Kelly accused Hasselbeck of retreating from public scrutiny to dodge criticism and proclaimed, “Now she thinks she can return for a day and decide what’s acceptable discourse about the war we just launched in Iran? Please.”

On Tuesday, The View devoted substantial time to Trump’s Iran attacks, with Hasselbeck guest-hosting for the second day while permanent panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin was on maternity leave.

Despite Hasselbeck’s history of publicly critiquing The View and its former stars, she appeared calm during her two-day stint and chose to pick a fight with Kelly instead.
