Puscifer's 'ImpetuoUs' Single: A Captivating Journey with a Comic Twist (2026)

Get ready, music lovers and comic book enthusiasts! Puscifer has just dropped a brand new single, 'ImpetuoUs,' and it's not just a song – it's a prelude to something even bigger: a brand-new comic book series!

This marks the third and final taste of their highly anticipated new album, 'Normal Isn’t,' set to arrive on February 6th. The album will be released via Puscifer Entertainment, Alchemy Recordings, and BMG.

'ImpetuoUs' starts with a captivating, pulsating synth, slowly drawing you in before Maynard James Keenan's distinctive vocals take center stage. He sings, "You feel it too/ They’re all afraid/ We’re not the same, no need to be/ Lets make some waves," before the track takes a darker, more electronic turn.

He continues, "Don’t leave, move or follow/ Let’s just dance/ Fearless and a bit impetuous / Take my hand," leading to an intense climax. "We are the curious, dauntless, and venturous in all ways/ We are the Vehement the Unpredictable unafraid."

Keenan shared his thoughts on the song, saying, "I’m looking forward to hearing where this song takes people. As the writers, we forget that in a way, we are carpenters and that we’ve been with this song since it was a pile of lumber." He added, "Our perspective may differ from the final occupant of this space we’ve constructed. Shelter, Bridge or Gallows, Coffin? Curious to find out."

But here's where it gets interesting... The music video for 'ImpetuoUs' also gives us a sneak peek at Tales From The Pusciverse, Puscifer's new comic book series. The first issue features Bellendia Black, a character introduced in the 'Pendulum' video. More details about the comic series, which will launch alongside the album, are coming soon.

'Normal Isn’t' was written and recorded across Arizona, Los Angeles, and during last year’s 'Sessanta Tour.' The album, which has already been teased by singles 'Self Evident' and 'Pendulum,' blends the band's signature dark electronics and sharp wit.

Co-producer Mat Mitchell noted, "From the outset, we had discussed an element of rawness and edge, which guitar brings. We got rid of the guard rails and made the music more aggressive."

Keenan added that "'Normal Isn’t' reflects this time we are living in. As storytellers and artists, our job is to observe, interpret, and report. We take in our environment and share what we see, and what we see around us does not appear normal. Not by a long shot.”

The album also features guest appearances from Greg Edwards, Tony Levin, Gunnar Olsen, Sarah Jones, and Danny Carey, who also plays with Keenan in Tool.

And this is the part most people miss... Puscifer is also hitting the road for a US tour this year! You can find tickets and tour dates.

Back in 2020, when discussing their fourth album, 'Existential Reckoning,' Puscifer revealed their approach to incorporating real-world elements into their music. Carina Round explained that Keenan excels at absorbing current events and weaving them into the lyrics in a way that requires the listener to actively engage with the music to fully understand it.

What do you think? Does Puscifer's new direction – with its blend of music and comics – intrigue you? Are you excited about the new album and the comic book series? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
